THE SACRAMENT OF INITIATION
Our youth is the Future of Our Community
Our Youth - Our Future
A quality youth Catholic Religious Education program creates a space where young people can encounter Christ, grow in their understanding of the faith, develop a strong sense of community, and learn to live out their Catholic identity in their daily lives.
How Does Our Religious Education Program accomplish this?
- Provides a Welcoming and Inclusive Environment by creating a safe environment where young people feel valued, accepted, and comfortable asking questions and exploring their faith.
- Fosters Relationships: We encourage meaningful relationships between our youth as well as between youth and adults, building a strong sense of community within our parish.
- Gospel Witness: Teachers and catechists are living examples of the faith, committed to their Catholic identity and sharing that through their words and actions.
- Knowledge and Skills: Our Catechists have a strong understanding of Catholic teachings, Scripture, and Tradition, combined with effective teaching techniques and the ability to build honest and caring relationships with our youth.
- Openness and Curiosity: We foster an environment of open dialogue and curiosity, where questions and doubts are welcomed and explored using reliable sources like Scripture and the Catechism.
- Parental Involvement: We support and equip our parents to be the primary educators of the faith for their children, by offering resources, education, and opportunities for family faith development.
- Regular Parent Meetings: Parent meetings and events are scheduled for each grade, especially theological preparation before First Confession, First Communion and Confirmation. Parent meet & greets are a wonderful way to meet other parents and ask questions.
