Serving at Mass
"It is in the Liturgy that we express
who we are as Christians."
Faith through Sharing

Serve by Sharing
Your Talents
Volunteering at Mass is meaningful way to give of your time and talents and making a significant contribution to the spiritual life of your parish.
It offers a way to deepen your faith, serve your community, and grow in confidence by proclaiming the Word of God in Mass and other services. It's a rewarding spiritual experience that brings God's message to life, fosters understanding of Scripture, and provides valuable public speaking practice. Lectors are integral to the Mass, ensuring that the foundational biblical texts are heard, understood, and deeply appreciated by the congregation.

Serving at Mass
If you are considering being more involved in the Mass, there are many areas for you to share your time and talents. If you feel called to help in any of these areas, please contact us. Thank you for your prayerful consideration.
Altar Servers
Our parish youth assist the priest at the Liturgy. Training is available for altar servers.
Environment/ Decoration Volunteers
To enhance our celebration, we look to provide seasonal environments and decorations. Generous volunteers prepare and coordinate church decorating. This involves the total worship space, from the entrance to the altar.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
The privilege of sharing the body and blood of Christ with the assembly at Liturgies is a special calling for our parishioners.
Gift Bearer
Volunteers carry up gifts at Sunday Liturgy — bread and wine and food for the poor. They join the ushers after the collection to carry gifts to the altar.
Greeters/ Ushers
Greeters welcome people who arrived whether they be first timers, guests or long time parishioners. Ushers take the collection, distribute bulletins and reorder the church after each Liturgy.
Lectors
Lectors proclaim the Word of God when we assemble for prayer. They are scheduled on a rotating basis, and receive training and workbooks to assist in preparation.
Cantors
Cantors lead the congregation in the singing parts of the Mass including the responsorial psalms, by singing the verses and leading the assembly's responses.
Sacristans
Sacristans help prepare and clean up after each Liturgy in the church. The sacristan arrives 20 minutes before the liturgy to turn on lights, make things ready and help servers and other Liturgical ministers. They also help afterward to put things away and prepare for the next Liturgy.
