Parish Family Life

"Vibrant Parishes are life-giving, both for their congregations and their communities. They foster lives of holiness and discipleship among their members and joyfully desire to share that same gift of faith in Jesus Christ with those they encounter."

-2018 Synod of the Catholic Diocese of Burlington

Where there is Family, there is Love.

"Parishes are not a club for the few,

which give a certain kind of social belonging. They have to become once again schools of service and generosity, with their doors always open to those who are excluded. And to those included.

To all."

- Pope Francis

What is Parish Family Life?

The parish is where the Church lives. Parishes are communities of faith, of action, and of hope. They are where the Gospel is proclaimed and celebrated. Parish Family Life refers to the various programs, activities, and initiatives within a church parish that aim to support and strengthen families as vital components of the church community. It recognizes the family as a "domestic church," a place of faith, love, and growth, and seeks to nurture this role within the broader parish structure.
