Life and Faith

A Catholic parish is a community where life and faith are centered around four pillars: worship, the Word (faith formation), community, and service. Life in a parish involves participating in Mass and other liturgical celebrations, growing in understanding through religious education and study, building relationships with other members, and serving the needs of others through acts of charity and justice. Parishes serve as a home for the Christian community, providing a place for believers to meet Jesus in the sacraments and be sent out to renew the world. 

• Worship: This includes both personal and communal prayer, with the Mass being the central act of Catholic worship. Catholics gather to celebrate the Eucharist and connect with God through the sacraments.
• Word: Faith formation is a lifelong process of learning and understanding the faith. This occurs through various means, such as receiving religious education, reading scripture, and participating in discussions that deepen the community's relationship with Christ.
• Community: Parishes are built on the unity of their members, who are drawn together for mutual support, celebration, and growth. This includes involvement with one another in various parish activities, fostering a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
• Service: Inspired by scripture and the life of Jesus, parishes are called to serve the needs of others and address injustice in the world. This involves both charity (caring for the immediate needs of individuals) and justice (working to eliminate the causes of injustice). 

Parishes are anchors of hope in their communities, providing a network of assistance and helping families meet their own needs as well as reach out to others. The ultimate mission of our parish is to form believers who are then sent out to be the "Body of Christ" in the world, spreading the Gospel through their actions.
